Even though the U.S. kind of embellishes Cinco De Mayo, it’s still a great excuse to party. So, what better way to celebrate another nation’s sort-of-celebrated holiday then by rounding up some friends to head out and sleep under the stars, drink some tequila and ride some waves together. Quick trips close to home are easy to do and with the right group, a damn fine time. The waves were looking good and a few buddies happened to be in town last minute, so with things lining up we left Sunday afternoon, high on the idea of all of us together running wild for the next few days. Our boy Austin was in town visiting and shooting some photos and a video with us, Giorgio happened to be here for that last swell and extended his ticket, Josh Edwards just graduated high school, ( CONGRATS HOMIE !! ) Ryan Croteau has a bad ass camping truck, Fowler had a really small tent he wanted to try out, Brooks said he’d make a cameo and bring Zach Miller over to surf with everyone and all of us and our ladies just needed a couple days in the sand, even though our office is kind of on the sand, we just wanted some new sand, ya know ? The water was warm and empty and a few more friends popped in over the weekend. We had it all to ourselves for a those few special days. In the middle of the trip we had a meeting set with SIMA for the Emerging Brands category, for which we brought some Cinco de Mayo camp chi to and then returned to finish off the trip grilling, making smiles, crushing Mexican tins and eating breakfast lunch and dinner off the open fire. Good times. Enjoy.
