Last weekend we had the pleasure of hanging with our latest contributor and good friend Forrest Minchinton as he prepped for round 1 of the National Hare & Hound put on by the AMA in Johnson Valley. Not wanting to sit around and wait until race day, we got out and about around the Minchinton Compound in Johnson Valley. Equipped with a number of cameras in both film, digital, and motion we dove into Forrest’s desert life out at his Johnson Valley Compound. Johnson Valley can be closely be comparable to the what we know as the Wild Wild West. No rules, No cops, No regulations on what you can and cannot build, all the beer you can drink, and of course the place is filled with desert vehicles. In other words The Minchinton compound is a boys dreamland. Before race day we set out to explore the terrain and made sure Forrest was ready for Sunday. Equipped with the Saul Jacket, Forrest went to work in his backyard and showed us how things are done… AKA the kid fucking rips. Coming from a surfing background, Forrest rides with a certain style. His influences from surfing have separated him from every one else and he sees lines differently that no one else would even notice which lead him to the number 1 spot on the podium in his class Sunday. Not only did he take 1st in his class but he caught up and passed 85 Experts and Pros in the class above him that started 30 minutes before. Good on you kid. We’re stoked to have Forrest to be apart of the family and look forward to more bikes, booze, babes, and guns with him. Take a look at the Saul Shell Jacket in Camo that Forrest is wearing, available in about two weeks at ourCaste.com and any of our epic retail partners.
