“Keep your eyes on this one gents” said Jon Warren – good friend of ours who also happens to be one of the head forecasters at Surfline. ” I’m expecting it to be a pretty good time.”
He is usually dead on so we took his advice and pulled a few of the larger boards out of the garage and cleared the schedule.
Dang. We are happy we listened. Lowell transformed a flat run of boring little dribble into an awakened coastline full of energy in all of the right places. Even though most flocked to one spot or the other there were grand moments of divine novelty to be found.
Our friend Drew Martin, who well and truly surfs more smoothly than we do, was just as fired up as we were only he was committed to catching this swell on his camera rather than his board. There are a couple in here from our buddy Ben Ginsberg as well, thank you for sending those over !! & for the shots of Hector and LJ on Surfer, the Inertia and Surfline. To add a third and very handsome perspective to the weekend’s run of waves our buddy Dave ( Marano ) woke us up early as F word Saturday morning with his camera pointed straight in our faces and said, “Wake up, it’s happening!!” We yawned, hugged Dave good morning and ran out of the door with him, looking for some fun. We found a really good time.
Here are a couple from last weekend which was “just a warm up, bigger and better on the way” which is the call we just got from our buddy Jon.
Our arms are falling off and the sunburn is making us overheat for sure. Still, we can’t wait for more.
See you soon Marie X’s and O’s till then.
